GREEN VELVET STEAM CYLINDER OIL
INFORMATION AND PRICING
(ISO460)
is the lightest of the true cylinder oils. It is intended for steam pressures
under 160 psi, saturated steam conditions and smaller cylinders (typically
under 8" bores). It has plenty of soft, smooth lard oil compounding and
tough glazing additive to lubricate wet cylinders and prevent rust after
shutting down.

(ISO680)
is our medium grade cylinder oil.
It is made for higher steam pressures up to 230 psi, larger cylinder
bores such as found on full size locomotives and conditions where moderate
superheat temperatures are reached. It has the extra solid
viscosity needed for higher steam pressures and heavier loads. Tallow
oil compounding and a film/surface modifier additive ensure water and rust resistant
films during operation and long after shut down. Call to order - 606-376-3035.

(ISO1000)
is our heaviest grade of compounded cylinder oil. It is made for
moderately high steam pressures up through 350 psi (at the engine inlet)
and higher superheat temperatures up to 650° F. It is an excellent
cylinder lubricant for large type E superheater locomotives that
don't return condensate to the boiler with feedwater heaters (Elesco
type). It is well adapted to Stanley and other steam cars that
operate non-condensing. It is a
full bodied high viscosity oil that will stand up to the high piston
speeds and high superheat temperatures in all non-condensing steam
car applications. Tallow oil compounding and a film/surface modifier
additive ensure water and rust resistant films during operation and
long after shutdown. This is a dark opaque oil that shows up
well in winkers. This oil should not be used in condensing
steam cars because the compounding cannot be easily separated in the
water tank.

(ISO1000)
is our heavy duty non-compounded cylinder oil. It is identical to the
Sapon-A-Min formula 3, but contains no animal fat compounding. It is ideal for
condensing Stanley and other steam cars that do not have heavy
enough mechanical lubricators to pump Sapon-A-Non1500 Formula 1.
It is made for steam pressures up through 350 psi (at the engine
inlet) and superheat temperatures up to 650° F.
It is a full bodied, high viscosity oil that will build efficient
lubricating films in dry, superheated engines. It contains a
hydrophobic film/surface modifier additive that assists with virtually complete
condensate separation in the water tank for efficient oil removal
prior to pumping condensate back into the boiler. The
film/surface modifier additive also forms "skins" that ensure water and rust
resistant films during operation and long after shutdown. This
is a dark opaque oil that shows up well in winkers.

(ISO1500)
is our heaviest grade cylinder oil. It is made for the highest
steam pressures up through 700 psi, and high superheat temperatures
up to 700° F. This lubricant contains no animal fat compounding and
is an excellent lubricant for high pressure, high temperature, condensing
steam engines with superheat in the exhaust.
It is equivalent to the popular, now discontinued Exxon Cylesstic
TK1500 steam cylinder oil and contains the same film/surface modifier that
fortified that lubricant. This is a dark opaque oil that shows
up well in winkers.
